Water clarity is good through most of the lake. Crappie can be found in creek channels that lead into the lake, or in river channels that lead into the lake. Crappie can be caught with jigs or live bait in areas with brush piles, standing timber, sunken logs, and docks. Fall is a productive time to fish for bass. A rapid drop in water temperature from the summer can trigger bass to move from deep water to shallow areas. Lures to use for fall bass fishing include shallow water jerkbaits, jigs (good all-around option), lipless crainkbaits, and buzzbaitss (effective for covering water especially in shallow areas). Bluegill are most active when the sun, moon, tides, and weather are right. Bluegill tend to feed more at sunrise sunset, or during a full moon. Use worms night crawlers, crickets, grasshoppers, red wrigglers, and meal worms.
