River flows are coming up! Dont panic were not expecting it to go very high. Today they will go up to 3,250 cfs and by tomorrow evening the flows will be 4,000 cfs. We may see 4,500 cfs for a few days, but that is speculation. Drifting algae will be a problem the next several days but this should clean the river up substantially. Nymph fishing has been fair on scuds, sowbugs, midge pupa, and Baetis nymphs. We have been catching some big fish, but not large numbers. The Baetis hatch is almost over, but you might find a few fish up on a cloudy afternoon. Top dry fly patterns include the #20 Student, #22 Baetis Spinner (0live rust body), #22 Sipper Midge, and #20 Thors Cripple. Nymph patterns like the #18 Root Beer Midge, #18 RS-2, #18 Skinny Bill, #18 Tung Teaser (black), #18 BP-3, #18 Zebra Midge, and #18 Flashback Quill, Orange & Pink Scud (#16,#18), #16 Natural Sow Bug, Ray Charles Sowbugs (grey & tan, sizes #16 & 18) and Soft Hackle Sowbug are producing. Streamer fishing has been slow, but a few fish are being taken when the light is low.
