The lake has been fishing well through the winter. The best fishing is from a boat or kayak, but there are many shore fishing spots available. Anglers targeting bass have had good success using deep diving crankbaits and jigs when fishing from the shore, and using Texas rigs and Carolina rigs (with a soft plastic worm of 3''+) when fishing from a boat. Dropshots also have been known to work well. Trout have been caught, but have not been biting great. It is good to use spinners or baited hooks with Powerbait or worms (hooks sized 12-16). Catfish always bite good, and for the same things. Be sure to use nightcrawlers, stinkbaits, and chicken livers .
