Open to Coho's. Trolling Coho killers,, spoons, hoochies, and cut plug herring for Coho's. Point Wilson Darts are the preferred method. Crabbing is Closed

About

Located between the north side of Vashon Island and the Tacoma Narrows Bridge Area 11 offers some of the widest variety of fishing along the Pacific coast of Washington.

Coho salmon is the preferred species, but squid, octopus, shrimp, chinook, pink, and chum salmon are also seasonally hot species to catch.

Shellfish beds of crab, mussels, razor clams, and oysters are also available.

This is deep water, with areas well beyond 200 feet in depth. The variety of shore and boat fishing here is tremendous.

Techniques & Tips

A fish finder is a must from a boat. There are many outcroppings, ledges, ridges, and channels where specific species prefer. Fishing deep is common with wire leaders and heavier braided line.

There are as many good lures that work in these waters as there are fish. Coho hit on Purple Haze flashers, hoochies, Gibbs skinny g spoons, three-inch or larger spoons, and squid lures.

Squid hit live bait, specifically minnows hooked through the lip once you find them via a fish finder.

Live bait works well for salmon, bullheads, flounder, sand dabs, and halibut.

Octopus feed on shellfish, cuttlefish, and dead fish on the bottom. Cut bait, and dead minnows will work on the bottom near oyster or razor clam beds.
