Try night crawlers, salmon eggs or Rainbow colored Powerbait in garlic scent for stocked rainbow trout. Try retreiving lures like Mepps. Lake is accesible.

About

A seasonal high altitude (8900 feet) mountain lake 30 miles southeast of Show Low, Arizona on Highway 373 in the White Mountains. This 24-acre lake is open to surface fishing during the summer months from late May to late September. It features brook and rainbow trout.

Ice fishing season varies from late November to late March with rainbow trout.

Aside from unseasonably warm winters, the lake is safe to fish from December to February most years.

Techniques & Tips

Lures on light tackle work for both rainbow and brook trout. Smaller Silver Fox in sizes 1 and 2, Panther Martin, and Roostertails are good choices in spinner lures.

Worm rigs, nightcrawlers suspended with drop shot rigging, or from bobbers on a number six or smaller hook work well for brook trout. Flyfishing near the shore or using a clear bubble and fly near the center of the lake should offer flies matching the hatch.

Ice fishing is best by hand with jigs, spoons, or nightcrawlers. Tip-ups baited with nightcrawlers on four to six-pound test monofilament and set to trip on a light hit work well.
