Red Fleet Reservoir: Anglers are experiencing fast fishing for yellow perch and wipers! UDWR biologists sampled Red Fleet the week of July 22nd, water temps were 74-77 F at the surface. We picked up several nice tiger and rainbow trout in the Brush Creek inlet area (tigers were up to 19" long). The wiper are abundant in the 12-15" range with recent angler reports of very good wiper fishing in the mornings and evenings. Yellow perch were sampled up to 10" total length. Black crappie are abundant and easy for kids to catch around the floating docks and in the cave area. Try using a small jig head tipped with a gulp minnow. Walleye were sampled up to 12" total length, abundance is still low for this species, we will continue to try for stocking of a 2" walleye instead of a fry. Largemouth bass fishing has been decent around structure. Several reports of 3-5 lb bass, which were transplanted from Steinaker Reservoir, have been caught. Please catch and release these bass until populations become more abundant again. Our next sampling will occur in October
